Universal Send™ technology empowers the workgroup in a whole new way, with the unique ability to deploy all forms of information—without restriction—to multiple destinations across a diverse and ever-changing digital landscape. Now, network users have the ability to send any kind of document— whether it resides on paper or in electronic form—via a Local Area Network, the Internet, or a Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) to multiple destinations, all in one simple, time-saving operation.
When equipped with Universal Send, Canon imageRUNNER devices are transformed into central hubs for the high-speed transfer of information. For example, users can distribute scanned documents as e-mail attachments, Internet-fax (I-fax), or Super G3 fax transmissions (optional), or forward them to file servers, Canon imageWARE databases, or an internal Mail Box. This eliminates the expense and administrative burden associated with forwarding and filing hard-copy documents. Users may specify the resolution level and file format, and select the proper scan settings required for document reception, distribution, and printing on the recipient’s end. Furthermore, imageRUNNER devices enabled with Universal Send offer a powerful Address Book function that allows users to send files to individuals or groups in a variety of file formats simultaneously.
