ImagePASS Controllers
To meet the needs of customers printing true Adobe PostScript 3TM files, complex graphics, and variable data output, Canon has partnered with the industry’s leading manufacturer of external print controllers, Electronics for Imaging, Inc. (EFI), to offer a solution expressly for the mid- to high-volume imageRUNNER devices. The imagePASS Print Controller is a self-contained external hardware RIP specifically designed to handle large, complex files being sent to high- and mid-volume imageRUNNER network printers.
- The imagePASS-M2 Print Controller – Designed for the Canon imageRUNNER 7200/8500/105/ 5020/6020 offers a powerful 1GHz Intel Pentium III processor, a 20GB hard disk drive for job spooling and font storage, and standard 128MB DIMM memory.
- The imagePASS-C1 v.2 – Designed for the Canon Color imageRUNNER C3220 device, it is an Intel Pentium III 850MHz print controller with support for genuine Adobe PostScript 3 and PCL 5c.
- The imagePASS-D1 – Designed for the Canon imageRUNNER C6800 device, it is an Intel Pentium III External Piggyback Controller that supports Genuine Adobe PostScript 3 and PCL 5c.
- The imagePASS-E1 – Designed for the Canon imageRUNNER C3100 model, it is an Intel Pentium III External Piggyback Controller with Genuine Adobe PostScript 3 and PCL 5c.
- The imagePASS-L1 Print Controller – Designed for the Canon imageRUNNER 5000/6000 models, and features an Intel Celeron® 366MHz processor, a 10.2GB hard disk drive, and standard 128MB DIMM memory.
Customers wishing to leverage the scanning function of the imageRUNNER devices with the printing performance of the imagePASS can do so by utilizing Canon Network ScanGear TWAIN-driver software. This software is compatible with the imagePASS, and will enable users to pull scan and print using these two technologies.
